HaBa WaBa Montréal 2020 postponed

Protecting our participants and saving lives are the most important tasks we need to focus on at the moment.

Out of respect for the health of our athletes, staff, volunteers and visiting families, the 2020 HaBa WaBa Montréal Festival has been postponed. The decision follows the guidance of public-health authorities in Québec and Canada.

HaBa WaBa was conceived as a global celebration of young water polo players. Each summer, it turns the pool deck into a melting pot of languages, flags and friendships. The 2020 edition was set to welcome clubs from four continents.

We will rebook dates for 2021 in coordination with our host partners, including Tourisme Montréal, the Government of Québec and our long-standing sponsors. In the meantime the Global Wave team is investing the gap in upgraded fields of play, new scouting programs and an expanded coach education calendar.

"Protecting our participants and saving lives are the most important tasks we need to focus on at the moment," said Dragan Jovanović, Executive Director. "Water polo will be there when we come back, stronger, louder, and more global."
