Global Wave Inc is an aquatics consultancy, international training operator and event partner based in Calgary, Alberta — and run around the globe. Our work is anchored in decades of high-performance competition in swimming and water polo at Olympic and World Championship level.
We offer programming for athletes, coaches and organizations of every age group: international training and competition tours for swimming and water polo across Europe; a pipeline program built with USA Water Polo; and consulting on coach education, club development, event organization, competition design and athlete pathways. The connecting thread is experience — a management team drawn from sport, law, business and information technology, with unparalleled passion for the water.
Dragan Jovanović
Born in the former Yugoslavia (Serbia), Dragan grew up living water polo and has spent more than three decades at the highest level of the sport — involved at every level of aquatics, from the pool deck to the front office, as an athlete, club coach, national-team coach and high-performance director.
A two-time Olympic coach, he won an Olympic bronze medal with the United States men's national team and served as head coach of Canada's men's national team for more than eight years. As an athlete, he was a professional water polo player with medals from major international competitions.
He was a FINA consultant from 2017 to 2020 and has presented at the FINA Water Polo Conference and at many other aquatic conferences. Across his career he has been on the deck at the Olympic Games, World Championships, European Championships, the Champions League, Pan American Games, FISU Games and the Commonwealth Games.
Today he serves as Executive Director of the World Water Polo Coaches Association. Visionary, organizer, educator and mentor — his work is anchored in an unparalleled passion for the water.
