International Training

Ten days along the Adriatic with first-division European clubs — training, scrimmaging and scouting, before dinner on the water.

What sets this trip apart

We do not sell a tour. We build a competitive season.

01

Scheduled around European competition

Our dates align with tournament calendars in Croatia, Montenegro and Malta so the top local clubs are in town, in form and willing to scrimmage. You will not spend a morning waiting for someone to show up to the pool.

02

Team-first programming

This is not an individual skills camp. Entire squads travel, train together, eat together, play together. That includes coaches, managers, medical staff and — where it makes sense — a travel cohort of parents.

03

All ages, all levels

Youth clubs, college squads, high-performance programs, coach cohorts. We have built trips for twelve-year-olds and for senior national-team development squads. The constant is intent.

04

Cultural context, not filler

Host cities are chosen for the quality of their water polo and for what they offer off the pool deck. Walking the walls of Dubrovnik, a morning in Diocletian's Palace, a ferry to Hvar — part of how a squad becomes a team.

Top locations

Croatia. Montenegro. Malta. And the islands in between.

Croatia

Dubrovnik

Home of Jug Dubrovnik, one of the winningest water polo clubs on earth. Training at VK Jug's historic pool and medieval city walls on your rest day.

Croatia

Split

POŠK and VK Split bring the level. Dioklecijanova Palace brings the atmosphere. Olympic-class training at the Gripe facility.

Croatia

Korčula & Hvar

Island water polo the way it was meant to be played — in open seawater pools, the Adriatic a wall away, in front of locals who actually understand the sport.

Montenegro

Budva & Kotor

Budva is the capital of the Montenegrin coast. Kotor is a UNESCO-listed bay. Both produce first-division clubs that reach the Champions League every year.

Malta

Valletta

Malta runs a water polo season that absorbs top European talent every summer. The Tal-Qroqq national pool is a serious training environment.

Croatia

Šibenik

VK Šolta and VK Šibenik run tough programs. Best basecamp for teams wanting a smaller, more focused week away from the tourist routes.

Voices from the tour

Coaches. Athletes. Parents.

Our club travelled for ten days and came back different. The training was world-class, but the stadium atmosphere our athletes played in — that is what they now chase every day in practice.

Global Wave does the unglamorous work brilliantly: visas, transfers, kit, meals, recovery. Our staff could focus on coaching, and our parents could focus on enjoying Europe.

We scrimmaged against a first-division European side on day three. That alone was worth the trip. By the end of the tour our captains were leading warmups in two languages.
Athlete, 17U
Futures alumna, bound for college water polo
The coaches we met in Croatia are still answering my questions a year later. Global Wave built those bridges quietly, and they last.
